Types of Maidu basketry: coiled baskets for cooking, storage and a variety of other uses. Usual Maidu basket materials include: hazel, redbud, willow and maple shoots; beargrass and ceanothus; fern, fir, cedar and pine roots.
The ancestral homeland of the Maidu people is the northern Sierra Nevada of California.
