Karuk Baskets

Types of Karuk basketry: finely twined baskets serving a wide variety of utilitarian, social and ceremonial functions.  Usual materials for Karuk baskets include: willow, myrtle and hazel shoots; pine and spruce roots; beargrass and fern.

The ancestral homeland of the Karuk people is in northwestern California along the lower Klamath River.
