Acoma pottery is thin-walled and strong, and is traditionally characterized by a brilliant white background. Its potters were among the most celebrated of the past century, and remain so today.
Acoma Pueblo is located 50 miles west of Albuquerque in New Mexico.

Exceptionally large olla by this granddaughter of the incomparable Lucy Lewis. This traditional pot was hand-coiled of native clay, hand-painted and pit-fired by Vickie during her brief career in the 1970s and 1980s.
