Types of Eskimo basketry: coiled baskets for storage and gathering, bowls and plaques for decorative use.  Lidded baskets were also popular forms.

Materials for Eskimo baskets include beachgrass, ryegrass and baleen.

Old polychrome seagrass basket.  Very good overall condition.  Minor stitch loss on rim - usual for age.

Beautiful old polychrome seagrass basket.  Very fine weave with vibrant colors.  Very good overall condition - would be excellent except for a few missing rim stitches and 3-4 breaks in the rim rod.
