Type of Yurok basketry: finely twined baskets serving a wide variety of utilitarian, social and ceremonial functions. Usual materials for Yurok baskets include: willow and hazel shoots; redwood, pine and spruce roots; beargrass, fern and porcupine quill.
The ancestral homeland of the Yurok people is northwestern California, along the lower Klamath River.
