Types of Pomo basketry: exceptional coiled or twined baskets for cooking, storage and gathering. Some of the finest Pomo baskets were made expressly as gifts for family or friends. Usual materials include: willow, hazel, wild grape and redbud shoots; pine, sedge, bullrush and fern roots; clamshell, abalone and a variety of types of feathers.
The ancestral homeland of the Pomo people is northern coastal California.
